Wednesday was Manchester

(Daisy)

Spent Tuesday night drinking Balinis,French Martini's, and an assortment of other tini drinks. Didn't know that I was attending a Mulberry store launch until the train ride wasover. The only reason I was there was thanks to D. Lowe invited me and DucksFlyMoon to travel with her. On the train we talked about the X factor and looked at Rihanna's performance on the show. There was a unanimous decision about how in shape Rihanna is in. Home girl is fit. From that moment the theme of the night was, Oh Nah Nah What's My Name.  Before we knew it the train had arrived in the station. On the way to the hotel I was stunned to see Ellie Golding walking next to me. We talked about how not smoking totally helps singers build performance endurance. Totally didn't realize she was on the train with us.

Afterwards,  the gang did the hair and make-up thing, showered, and selected Mulberry bags to wear to the opening. Walking out of the elevator into the lobby there were 2 Mercedes vans waiting to take us to the Mulberry gathering. Sunday Girl was the musical entertainment for the event, she's been supporting Ellie on the road. Ellie and I became annoyed at the other people attending the event because they weren't paying any attention to the musician. I tried my best to encourage Sunday Girl, but you couldn't hear the guitar and the vocals were muffled. You could totally tell the sound guy was not paying attention to what was going on. After the performance, Ellie played an impromptu Guns and Roses song. While she played Daisy, DucksFlyMoon, myself, and Kirsty took photos in the photo booth.

Once the Mulberry event finished we all went for diner at an italian restaurant. While inside the taxi we sang more of Rihanna's song ,Oh Na Na, What's My Name, with helium in our lungs. At diner we ordered lots to eat and many more things to drink. Daisy drank water, DucksFlyMoon and I consumed an assortment of wines and martini's. Because we were all enjoying ourselves so much I suggested to everyone at the table that we have a jam session back at the hotel. Ellie asked me what it was I played and at that moment one of the managers at the table excitedly said, "He plays the violin." Ellie then stopped and thought back in her mind as to where she had seen me. Then it clicked for her, "Your the violinist that was.... OMG! At that moment I tried not to fell embarrassed, but there really was no need. I was the least famous of the glamours UK stars at the diner table.LOL. Alas, it is nice to get noticed by someone like Ellie Goulding.

On a train to Manchester

On my second glass of wine, sitting with friends on the Virgin Train, ears are popping from the change of air pressure. The crew walks around collecting rubbish and Daisy just downloaded Goggle Chrome. The atmosphere outside resembles the realm of Sleepy Hollow. Headed to Manchester for the day and Daisy is going to Dj. Last night I played a gig at Buffalo Bar with Monument Valley. The guys in that band are amazing, to say the least. I was under the impression that Monument Valley would be headlining last's show, since I haven't really developed a large following yet, but I was wrong. The instrumentation for Monument Valley's consisted of cello and guitar. i loved the music. Listening to them on stage made me really realize that I want to have a cellist on stage. The cello is so strong when played correctly and last night it was definitely played remarkably.

After the night's performance a few people expressed their enthusiasm in regards to the music and I jetted of to SAVOY to dance the night away with DucksFlyMoon and Daisy L. Daisy was djing but she forgot her cds, LOL. Wer stayed out until 3am and next day we took a train to Manchester for another Daisy Lowe Dj set w/ CDs in hand.

Last Nights Gathering.

Last night marked the return of Marques Toliver and The Sometimes. The show took place in a loft space in Williamsburg. Earlier that day DucksFlyMoon and myself rehearsed two sings on the autoharp. I was still in my underwear by this time and the apartment was like an ice cave. David Reuben was out taking the SAT. Mihir was scheduled to drop by at noon

Once Mihir was at the flat we ran through White Sails, and Place Somewhere(That night I decided not to play "Place Somewhere").4pm rolled around and by then we where at the space on Kent, where the show would be taking place. The night was filled with people that had heard word of the music that night an as a result conversation we sparked and vanquished. My favourite part of the night was playing Anticipation. it served as somewhat as an awakening inside of me and allowed me to take a glimpse at what my sound could possibly become.

At the moment I'm working with what I know. In the future I plan on incorporating more aspects of present day music into my sound, but for right now I like the violins and autoharp. Towards the end of the Night I spoke briefly with Francois Champenois, CEO of LEN INC.

I wanted to set aside some time and have a smoke before I played, but it didn't really work out way.I walked back into that loft, which was adorned with large painted canvases and began to warm up. The music started and eveoryone slowly took their seats. I asked DucksFlyMoon to a play an impromptu 2 chord passage over and over while everyone drifted to their seats. The ensemble had never practiced this particular song I creating, never the less, everything jelled and before I knew the pianist and cellist were weaving in and out of DucksFlyMoon's chords.

Many thanks to the musicians that helped make last night possible.
